HURON TWP – State Representative Deb Kennedy (D-Brownstown) announced today that state tax incentives of $685,936 awarded to a local business will enable it to expand, creating at least 51 local jobs.
"In order to get Michigan's economy back on track, we have to make sure that our workers have access to good-paying jobs," Kennedy said. "It is important that we help Michigan businesses flourish and supply Michigan workers with the jobs they need. Because of the tax incentives awarded to Pump Engineering, LLC, we will see more local jobs created."
The Michigan Economic Growth Authority today awarded Pump Engineering, LLC (PEI) $685,936 in tax incentives over seven years. PEI, a Monroe-based company, plans to expand to an existing building in Huron Charter Township that will support the growth of its business. PEI will invest approximately $4.25 million in Huron Township and create at least 51 jobs over the next five years as a result of tax breaks.
PEI develops innovative solutions for the high-pressure/low-flow pump technology. The company has focused its research and development efforts on this market, which has resulted in a number of products that have become the core business of PEI. Those products include a Hydraulic Turbocharger, a low-pressure turbocharger and a turbocharger for natural gas processing applications.
"PEI is a good example of what hard work and dedication can do for a business," Kennedy said. "I applaud the leaders of the company for investing in our community and recognizing that Michigan has some of the most talented workers around."
